Housed in the palm of your hand, KENWOOD 's TH-F7E is incredibly small - only 58 x 88 x 29 mm (W x H x P). How can so many features be included in such an extraordinarily compact design?
This little wonder is a dual-band FM tuner (144/430 Mhz) with dual-channel RX capability, 16-key keyboard, multifunction button and up to 434 memory channels. Other features include: a built-in ferrite bar antenna for AM transmissions, LCD with backlight and a lithium-ion battery. Small enough to get into a pocket, the TH-F7E KENWOOD allows you to move freely while enjoying the clear and reliable communications for which you are famous KENWOOD. And despite its sleek appearance, it is suffficiently resistant enough to meet MIL-STD criteria to withstand the rigors of external use, while delivering superb performance.
Great ease of operation
Simple operation is a critical component of this dual-band FM tuner, and KENWOOD engineers have ensured that it can be effortlessly operated with one hand. Its focus is on the easy-to-read LCD - equipped with contrast control and backlight - which displays intuitive menus with essential frequency and memory information, and battery status indicators. In monoband, the size of the frequency visualizer is twice as large for even greater visibility.
Multifunction button and 16-key keyboard
The ease of operation is further improved with the multifunction button. Similar to the button found on some mobile phones, you can browse menus with one finger. Vertical operation controls frequency, while horizontal movement controls band selection. There is also a 16-key keyboard, ergonomically spaced and illuminated for night use.
434 Memory channels, multiple search functions
There are other equally impressive specifications: 434 memory channels, including two call channels and another 20 for programmable tracking. A full range of search functions are available – including Mhz, memory, call, tone, CTCSS and DCS. Group tracking mode comprises 8 groups of 50 channels each. And you can choose between busy - stop-resumption (SE) operated by carrier (CO) or time operated (TO).
Multiband Transceiver (Main Band) + Broadband Receiver (Sub-Band)
As elegant as the user interface is, what counts is the interior. And the TH-F7E counts twice as much: it is a two-band transceiver (Main Band A) and a 0.1 to 1300 Mhz broadband receiver (Sub-band B). In addition to FM/FM-W/FM-N/AM and SSB/CW, the receiver section offers an RX m odo (10 channels) of memory channels for special information, a built-in antenna with ferrite bar to receive AM transmissions, and fine mode - with selectable magnification (33/100/500/1000Hz2) - for extraordinarily accurate SSB tuning.
Moreover, this carrier transceiver can receive 2 frequencies simultaneously, even in the same band. Versatility is extraordinary.
Sturdy construction
The smaller a transceiver, the easier it will be to charge. Fortunately, the TH-F7E KENWOOD is built to withstand harsh displacement, complying with strict MILD-STD 810 C/D/E standards for strength, vibration, impact, humidity and light rain.
Lithium-ion battery
The TH-F7E KENWOOD is equipped as standard with a powerful 7.4V 1550 mAh lithium-ion battery, offering a high output - with selectable HIGH/LOW/MINIMUM settings - and longer life than a Ni-Cd battery. And since the charging circuit is built-in, the battery can be charged while the TH-F7E is in operation in a DC (13.8V) outlet.
